Follow these easy steps to enrol your children
Step 1
Attain a copy of application forms directly from our school office or please email our friendly school staff at oberthur.ps@education.wa.edu.au and they can help you with your application.
Step 2
Submit your application for enrolment by email, post or hand deliver to our office, along with the following original documentation:
Child’s Australian Birth Certificate if born in Australia (telephone the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages on 1300 305 021 if you do not have one)
- If the child or parents were born overseas, we will need to sight the Child’s/Parent’s Passport and Visa Grant notice details or Australian Passport/Citizenship paperwork for Child/Parent(s)
- Up-to-date Medicare Immunisation Record (visit the Department of Health for instructions on how to obtain this up-to-date statement)
- Proof of your current residential address:
- Current Council Rates Notice; or
- Rental Agreement (minimum of 12 months from commencement of attendance) with Security Bond Receipt issued by the Department of Commerce
Please Note: original documentation will need to be sighted when submitting your child’s application.
PLUS – A minimum of 2 of the following documents:
– Power (must be able to show that you are using the utility-living at the property)
– Gas (must be able to show that you are using the utility-living at the property)
– Telephone Account (land line account only)
– Contents Insurance Policy
– Any other official documentation that may support the application as proof of residence.
NOTE: If the child has a change of name – supporting documents, these are to be provided at enrolment.
If there are access restrictions e.g. Family Court Orders, VRO or supporting documents are to be provided.
Any other documents that may relate to your child’s learning, behaviour and health.
Step 3
We will consider all applications for enrolment, consistent with the School Education Regulations and Enrolment in Public Schools policies, prioritising the local intake area, and considering applications outside of the local intake area only where the school has sufficient accommodation to meet all local intake placements.

Our Local Intake Area
The following map defines the local-intake area of Oberthur Primary School.
Applications for enrolment from outside of our Local Intake Area
We consider applications for enrolment from students outside of our Local intake area(link to map again). Where the school has the capacity to accommodate these enrolments, while guaranteeing enough places for students within the local intake area, we will offer a place in the following priority order:
For our local intake area, the principal will give enrolment priority in the following order:
- First priority – A child residing in the local intake area who will have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
- Second priority – A child residing in the local intake area who will not have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
- Third priority – A child residing outside the local intake area who will have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
- Fourth priority – A child residing outside the local intake area who will not have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
Kindergarten
A year of part-time Kindergarten is available at Oberthur Primary School. While it is not compulsory, almost all parents enrol their children, so they get the best start to learning at school. If your child is four years old by 30 June 2026 you can apply to enrol them in kindergarten for 2026.
Children must meet WA immunisation requirements to enrol in kindergarten. An Australian Immunisation register (A.I.R.) statement must be up to date or show an active catch-up schedule.

Wherever possible, your child will be offered a place at Oberthur Primary School if they reside within the school local intake area, however, if the number of applications for enrolment exceeds the number of places available you may be referred to a nearby kindergarten which has places available.
The School Education Regulations 2000 specify how we must prioritise enrolment offers for kindergarten.
Pre-primary – Year 6
Every child of compulsory school age is required to be enrolled in and attend school. Once enrolment is accepted for Pre-primary, or directly into Years 1-6, there is no need to re-enrol each year. Places are guaranteed for all children of compulsory school age who reside within the local intake area of Oberthur Primary School.
