Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Program
Oberthur Primary School is known for ‘Innovation’ and creative opportunities for students and our wider learning community. The integration of Technologies throughout our school in every class, for every student, every day has enabled us to inspire futures and prepare our students for the technological world in which they live and will later work.
Our 1-1 programs have been in place since 2011 evolving and adapting to accommodate new applications and systems year on year. iPads are integrated into general class teaching from Year 1 through to Year 3, and 1-1 Mac books Years 4 to 6. These platforms are used to support the content in the Western Australian Curriculum and utilised across all subject areas in conjunction with the Chinese Immersion program. Specific applications such as ‘Jamf’, ‘Stile’, ‘Education Perfect’, ‘Connect’ and ‘Compass’ form part of the I.C.T. program.
S.T.E.M.
Oberthur has three purpose-built S.T.E.M. rooms used to promote and deliver the Design and Digital Technologies curriculum and to support student and community interest in coding, engineering and S.T.E.M based opportunities. A S.T.E.M club and Coding Club continue to add further value to the school program.
Coding Club
Oberthur’s Coding Club runs on a term by term basis and generally takes place after school on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Please use the link below for details of lesson content, resources, competitions and session times.
