Our BYO Program

Oberthur Primary School has a 1 : 1 BYO (Bring Your Own) ipad Program in Years 1 to 3 and a MacBook Program in Years 4 to 6.

A parent Seminar with ‘Class Walk Through’ are held for all Pre-Primary or new families in Term 4 in readiness for the onset of Year 1 Ipad program.

Additional parent information sessions take place throughout the year. We recommend Year 4 parents attended the Set-up and MacBook Management session run by Mrs Bruynel at the start of each academic year.

Ipad technical set-up and support is managed by Mrs Gianoli and Miss Dama MacBook set-up and technical support by Mrs Bruynel and Mrs Taylor.

What device should you purchase?

Any Ipad or Apple MacBook or would be acceptable as long as the operating system (MacOS) is 14 or above. It is not essential to buy the most expensive device. If buying second-hand, we recommend you check that the device is no more than 2 or 3 years old, as it must function until at least the end of Year 3 or end of Year 6 -2028.

Where do I purchase my device from?

You may purchase your device from any supplier, and we strongly recommend that you shop around to find the best deal for you and your child.

Oberthur Primary School ICT third party provider is Winthrop Australia, who provides system maintenance in line with the Education Departments guidelines and iPads and Mac Books to the parent community.
