Music Program
Oberthur Primary School has an exceptional music program, offering an extensive instrumental program and a comprehensive classroom music program.
Students have access to purpose-built diatonic instruments, including marimbas and other tuned percussion, fostering ensemble learning and performance. The program emphasises student success, confidence and enjoyment in both vocal and instrumental music production.
Our String Ensemble and Marimba Band perform at various annual events, including Harmony Week, ANZAC Day, music evenings, and assemblies. They also engage with the wider community, participating in the ABODA String Festival, Perth Children’s Hospital’s Christmas Concert Series and the WA Principals’ Association conference. More recently showcasing their skills in a professional studio.
IMSS (Instrumental Music School Services) compliments our music program. Selected students receive free tuition on instruments such as Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Guitar, Flute, and Trumpet.
